Spring Revolution Daily News for 4 October 2022 

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • On Sunday, the Interim National Management Degree College announced that it did not recognize the entrance application and additional courses conducted by the military junta. 
  • Ayadaw Township Public Administration stated that in cooperation with CDM health staff, they provided local people with free medical check-ups and conducted educational talks on health. 
  • On 30 September, Tumi Lottery, which raises funds for the revolution in Chin State, announced the winners of their 5th round. 

Revolutionary Activities 

  • On Monday, the Mandalay Monks’ Union conducted an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas. 
  • In Mandalay, a rally of Pyigyi Dagun protested against the military dictatorship on Monday. 
  • On Monday, a rally of anti-junta monks held a demonstration for the revolution and against the military dictatorship. 
  • In Thazi Township, PDF members expressed their objections to the military dictatorship on Monday. 
  • According to the Pa O Youth Organisation, local people have had to suffer more health problems including women miscarrying and more cases of land confiscation due to Pinpet Iron Factory and Tigyit Coal Plant in Shan State. 
  • In Wetlet Township in Sagaing Region, a rally of local people expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship on Monday. 
  • In Kani Township, the Basic Education Students’ Union marched against the military dictatorship on Monday. 
  • In Minkin Township, the junta armed forces have been constantly invading local villages. Reportedly, more than 1,000 people have been trapped and they are in urgent need of food. 
  • In Monywa Township, PDFs attacked the police station in Nyaung Phyubin Village at about 2:00 am on Sunday. Reportedly, 10 junta members died and five others were injured. 
  • According to local people, the junta armed forces have been restricting food transportation in many villages in Rakhine State and cutting it down in some areas. 
  • In Dawei in Tanintharyi Region, the military junta has been making arrangements to organize the traditional festival of floating alms bowls. Therefore, a combined force of five local PDFs called on the public not to take part in it. 
  • In Longlone Township, a rally of the Rosy Women Union led an anti-junta movement on Sunday evening. 
  • In Pathein in Ayeyarwaddy Region, there was a bomb explosion at the junta MyTel Office on Kanna Road at 7:45 pm Sunday. 

Ethnic Armed Organisations 

  • In Myawaddy in Kayin State, two DKBA members were shot by an unknown group in a car at about 4:00 pm on Sunday while they were buying betel. 
  • In Kawthoolei in Thatone District under the Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade (1), an alliance was established with 25 anti-junta revolutionary forces. 
  • According to the Karenni National Defence Force (KNDF), there were no less than 57 battles in Karenni State in September. 
  • Reportedly, over 100 junta soldiers died and 50 others were injured. 
  • On Sunday, Mobye PDF announced that there had been heavy fighting in the border area of Shan and Karenni states since 8 September and both sides had lost members. 

The Military Council 

  • The military junta announced that it had confiscated weapons from an ISUZU truck on the way out of Mawlamyine as it was on its way to PDFs in Sagaing Region. 
  • The junta media falsely claimed that PDFs had arrested U Win Naing, a hundred household leader in Bommati Village in Tandabin Township in Bago Region, killed him and discarded the dead body on a bridge. 
  • The junta Media stated that the junta handed back a PDF member, who had attended military training in an ethnic area and who had not committed any crime, to his parents. 
  • In Salingyi Township in Sagaing Region, a combined force of PDFs attacked the police camp in Kyardat Village at 6:00 am on Sunday. Reportedly, the junta Northwest Military Headquarters based in Monywa had to provide an air strike to help defend the headquarters. 
  • The junta Mining Department from the Ministry of Natural Resources called for tenders for the sale of copper weighing 1000 metric tons from the Monywa Mine. 
  • The junta Union Election Commission (UEC)  called a tender for the procurement of necessary items for the upcoming election. 

Summary on 4 October 

  • The military junta has been losing areas under their control in Sagaing Region. Reportedly, they have had to use fighter jets in every battle. 
  • Despite armed conflicts all over the country, the military junta has been arranging by force to hold an election to cover up the 2020 election result and reduce fighting.
