The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG Acting President warned Ministers not to give false hope to the public.
  • In recent days, a video went viral, in which a woman was being caught and killed by so-called local PDFs on the road in Tamu Township in Sagaing Region. The NUG Union Minister of Human Rights wrote on his social media that the NUG is conducting a thorough investigation of the incident.
  • The NUG announced that it was necessary for PDFs to have ethical standards based on human rights when defending the public from the violent activities of the junta army.

Revolution Activities

  • According to Justice for Myanmar (JFM), Yoma Bank, which has access to World bank support, has been providing banking services for Telecom International Myanmar Co. Ltd, the MyTel Telecom Operator owned by the military junta.
  • In Malaysia, there was a fund-raising football match for the Spring Revolution at the Tenaga National University football ground. Reportedly, there was also a protest against the junta’s election.
  • In Busan in South Korea, a rally of Korean and Myanmar people expressed their hatred of Myanmar’s military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Chonburi in Thailand, the 7th fund-raising football match was held on Sunday to support PDFs in Myanmar.
  • In Edmonton in Canada, the movie- ‘The Road Not Taken’ by Director Ko Pauk was shown on Saturday.
  • Even amidst tight security measures in Yangon, Demon Youth conducted a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship, hanging an anti-junta banner that said ‘No chance for the military to rule’ on YBS buses.
  • On Sunday, Yangon Revolution Force expressed its disapproval of the military dictatorship, placing a toy of mascot cat at the Mingalardon Military Cemetry, which implies that there will be more funerals of junta soldiers.
  • There were battles between PDFs and junta armed forces invading Sagaing Township and Madayar Township. Reportedly, two junta soldiers, including an officer, died.
  • In Kani Township in Sagaing Region, a rally of villagers marched against the military dictatorship, raising anti-junta banners.
  • In Shwebo Township, there were three bomb attacks using drones on the junta army. According to Fire Dragon Khin-U, three junta soldiers died.
  • The People’s Liberation Army conducted an event in memory of Ko Hnin Aung, alias comrade Aung Ba Nyo who lost his life last year. Reportedly, members of TCRF PRA joined the event.
  • In Dibeyin Township, the junta armed forces set fire to Namya Village and Yingyay Village on Sunday morning.
  • ·On their 633rd day of protest, a combined rally of villagers from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched on Sunday for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • On the Sagaing-Monywa Road Section, there were many mine attacks on junta logistics unit (929) transporting rations and weapons on 25 November. Reportedly, 18 junta soldiers died and three military trucks were completely damaged.
  • After the ceasefire between the junta army and Arakan Army (AA) on 26 November, the junta reopened the Kyauktaw to Paletwa Waterway, which had been closed for over three months. Reportedly, Yenayar (1) Waterway Transportation resumed its service on Saturday.
  • There have been social media campaigns showing that the public stands with those who have been sentenced to death for their political faith, including seven students sentenced to death.
  • In Tanintharyi Township of Tanintharyi Region, about 2,000 local people, who ran away because of fighting in Lethit Village, dare not return home yet, because they are worried that the junta army will again invade the area.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Demoso Township in Karenni State, there was fighting between the KNDF+KA and a large number of the junta armed forces moving towards Dawkami Village at 9:30 am on Saturday. Reportedly, over 20 junta soldiers died, four others were caught alive and their weapons were confiscated.
  • In Demoso Township, there was fighting against the junta army for almost the whole day, according to local PDFs on Saturday.
  • In Kyaikto Township in Mon State, the junta army wildly fired mortars at two villages. According to the Karen National Union (KNU), four houses were damaged.
  • In Rakhine State, the Arakan Army (AA) withdrew their checkpoints on the road between Sittway Township and Ponnagyun Township on Sunday morning.

The Military Council

  • The junta Minister of Hotels and Tourism said that it would negotiate with the respective departments about obtaining travel insurance for Russian tourists who want to come to Myanmar.
  • On Sunday, the junta army led an event in honor of junta soldiers who had died in clashes with ethnic armed organizations, at Naypyitaw Mausoleum.
  • On Saturday, the junta Kayin State Government met with responsible personnel from MPEG Co. Ltd.
  • Reportedly, 40 trainees from Myanmar were sent to Bhopal in India to attend capacity-building training for judges and judiciary staff from 5 to 8 December.
  • At the Chinese Embassy in Yangon, the junta Minister of Foreign Affairs signed in the book in sorrow for the former Chinese President.
  • For frontline soldiers and members of the Border Guard Force (BGF), the teams from Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV) have been on entertainment trips.

Summary on 5 December

  • In Sagaing Region and Magwe Region, the junta armed forces have been burning villages. Despite this, there were still many protests against the military dictatorship.
  • Though there was less military activity in Rakhine State, there were heavy clashes in Karenni State. Reportedly, the junta army faced great losses there. As for local defence forces, they have gained control, even in urban areas.
  • In Kayin State, the military junta has been preparing to invade the area. On the other hand, the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and their alliance have also been arranging their defences, so there might soon be heavy battles in the area
