Summary on 4th January

  • The junta leader blamed differences of political views for low development in the country despite 74 years of independence. On the contrary, it was just because military leaders were selfish and greedy for their own self-interest via the country’s resources.
  • Despite the 2008 Constitution based on the interest of the army, they had a great loss. Therefore, they broke it and seized power by force. It is crystal clear that conflicts do not arise out of different political views.
  • As a revenge of their loss in Wetlet Township of Sagaing Region on 1st January, the junta armed forces made fire ammunitions via helicopters at villages on Tuesday morning. It seems that junta soldiers have to learn at their junta academy to intentionally target civilians in their attacks if they have a great loss.
  • As for Kayin, Karenni, Chin and Sagaing, they had heavy battles until the junta army had to use their air force. In Yangon, Mandalay, Magwe and Dawei, there were activities of guerrilla revolution and powerful protests.
