The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG Deputy Minister of Planning, Finance and Investment said that they had supported Cobra Troop with over 46 lakh MMK, earned from NUG Pay within two days, in its victory at Ukrihta Camp in the Wale Area of Kayin State.
  • The Interim Chin National Consultative Council condemned the air strikes by the junta army on two villages in Mindat Township in Chin State at 11:00 a.m. on 2 July.
  • On 1 July, there was an online meeting between the Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the NUG Ministry of Communication, Information and Technology.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Karenni State, the Loyalty Mobile Team has been providing IDPs with mobile healthcare services.
  • On Monday, the Monywa-Amyint General Strike led a march against the military dictatorship.
  • On the 480th day of protest, a combined rally of villagers from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Shwebo Township in Sagaing Region, a rally of villagers marched for the NUG and against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • According to a representative from Click for Karen, they have been accepting advertisements supporting IDPs in the Kanyaw Blog application. He also called on the public to read the blogs on the application.
  • In Kamayut Township in Yangon Region, two alleged junta informers were shot near Hledan Market at about 9:00 a.m. on Monday. Reportedly, one of them died and another one was injured.
  • In Yangon, there were many protests on Sundaywhere people burned photos of junta leader Min Aung Hlaing because it was his birthday. Following the protests the junta armed forces arrested a lot of youths in the neighborhoods of Myaynigone and Sanchaung.
  • In Myingyan Township in Mandalay Region, six junta soldiers were bombed with a drone on their way back from Yandabo Village. Reportedly, four of them died.
  • In Phalan Township of Chin State, the junta army killed two people including a deaf and dumb old woman in Barlone Village.
  • In Longlone Township in Tanintharyi Region, a large number of the junta armed forces raided a PDF camp on 30 June. According to LLPDF on Monday, one of their members got arrested together with their weapons.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Mone Township in Nyaunglebin District an area under the control of the Karen National Union (KNU), about 40,000 local people have had to run away due to air strikes by the junta armed forces.
  • Cobra Troop published the photos of a junta soldiers who had died in the fighting for Ukrihta Camp in Myawaddy Township in Kayin State.
  • According to the Shan State Progressive Party (SSPP), it has hired the actress Thinzar Wint Kyaw to make a documentary about local development.
  • On 24 June, the Karenni State Police Force arrested 6 non-CDM teachers for investigation. Reportedly, they had already previously released them.
  • The KNU announced that they would take responsibility for the administration of Sawti Township in Bago Region and all the junta administrators will have to resign.
  • In Beelin Township under KNU Brigade (1), the junta army used 22 people from 11 villages as human shields and porters from 17 June to 1 July. They also took away valuable things and destroyed people’s property.
  • In Mone Township in Bago Region, the KNLA attacked the junta's Kyaungbya Camp on Saturday morning and burnt it down. Reportedly, the military officer in charge of the camp died and weapons, including an 81mm mortar, were confiscated.

The Military Council

  • The Chinese Foreign Minister, who had come to Myanmar for the first time after the coup, urged the junta Foreign Minister to discuss with opposition groups.
  • The second junta leader Soe Win said that Myanmar had been practicing zero-tolerance policy against sexual violence.
  • New Zealand announced that they had resigned from the meeting of the ASEAN Defence Working Team on counter-violence, which will be co-chaired by the military junta of Myanmar.
  • According to the junta media, the Chinese Foreign Minister cut the ribbon for the opening ceremony of Kyuinline Stairway, constructed in Bagan with assistance from China.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it had a special meeting with the Chinese Foreign Minister about the implementation of projects under the cooperation of China and Myanmar, and for the stability in the border area.
  • The Chinese Foreign Minister said that the ASEAN was expected to follow a policy of non-interference in other countries' internal affairs while trying to help resolve Myanmar’s crisis. 

Summary on 5 July

  • The Chinese Foreign Minister, urged the military junta to meet with opposition groups. He also told the ASEAN Special Envoy to provide help for the election with a PR system and for steady implementation of the ASEAN 5-point consensus. It looks as if China had come to pave the way for the military junta.
  • In the areas under the KNU, they have stopped just defending themselves and have launched offensive attacks. They have begun to take control of junta army camps one after another. In Mone in Bago Region, they managed to take control of a junta camp. They are
  • also going to start running the administration of Shwekyin in Bago Region and told all the junta administers to resign.
  • Due to counter attacks by the KNU, the momentum of fighting came to a halt in Sagaing Region. PDFs are likely to take advantage of the situation by conducting offensive attacks.
