Spring Revolution Daily News for 5 September 2022 

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • The NUG Minister of Foreign Affairs, NUG Minister of Human Rights and the NUG Representative to the Czech Republic went to the tomb of Václav Havel, the late President of the Czech Republic who had always support democratic movements in Myanmar.
  • On Friday, the NUG Union Minister of Foreign Affairs met with Czech Foreign Minister and discussed Myanmar’s affairs. 

Revolutionary Activities 

  • In Yangon, youths expressed their desire by hanging a banner that said: “UN Prove Your Existence for Justice“ at the United Nations Office to urge the UN to keep U Kyaw Moe Tun as Myanmar’s Representative on the world stage and to reject the military junta. 
  • On Saturday night, the War Of Hunter Revolution Force (WHO) carried out an explosion at the CID Police office in Insein Township. 
  • In Mingaladone Township, there was a bomb attack on the junta factory making Myanmar Beer at 9:39 pm on Saturday. 
  • In Minkin Township in Sagaing Region, the junta army arrested some displaced people in the Taungdwin Area on Saturday afternoon. 
  • In Kantbalu Township, Taze PDF attacked the junta inspection gate near Karbo Village at 11:25 am on Saturday. Reportedly, four junta soldiers died and six others were injured. 
  • In Sagaing Township, there was fighting near Taungyar Village on 28 August. Reportedly, two junta soldiers died. 
  • On Sunday, a rally of anti-junta monks conducted a protest against the military dictatorship. 
  • In Kani Township, a rally of Spring Revolution Forces placed an anti-junta banner near one of the strategic roads in the area. 
  • Holding signs saying: "Accept the NUG and Our Ambassador, Reject the Dictator", Pale people expressed their desire to the United Nations to keep U Kyaw Moe Tun as Myanmar’s Ambassador. 
  • On their 542nd day of protest, a combined rally of villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday. 
  • In Dawei Township in Tanintharyi Region, a military troop was attacked by local PDFs near to Thayetngote Village at 10:30 am on Thursday. Reportedly, eight junta soldiers including a captain died and no less than five others were injured. 
  • In Thayetchaung Township, youths carried out a protest against the junta’s slavery education at a school on Saturday night. 
  • In Longlone Township, local people expressed their desire for the United Nations to keep the current Myanmar Ambassador, U Kyaw Moe Tun, and reject the military junta on Sunday morning. 
  • In South Korea, Daegu Sayardaw led a combined rally of Myanmar and Korean people against the military dictatorship on Sunday. 
  • In Sittway in Rakhine State, the junta armed forces shot dead a Rohingya man aged 20 riding a motorbike on Sunday morning. 
  • In Hpakant Township in Kachin State, a rally of the Lonekhine Group on motorbikes carried out a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship on Sunday. 
  • In Myaing Township in Magwe Region, local PDFs attacked the junta Pyusawti Group in Kanni Village. Reportedly, five junta members died and many others were injured. 
  • At 8:15 am on Sunday, junta soldiers arrested a Rakhine ethnic Hip-Hop singer Yin Soe in Mrauk-U. 

Ethnic Armed Organisations 

  • The Chief Military Officer of the Arakan Army (AA) said that junta soldiers who had just attacked the civilians without weapons were cowardly.
  • In Fruso Township in Karenni State, the KNDF conducted a guerrilla attack on a military convoy. They also carried out bomb attacks using drones on the junta army camp. Reportedly, no less than five junta soldiers were injured. 
  • In Kutkhine Township in Shan North, there was fighting between the junta armed forces and ethnic armed organisations in Mantpaing Village Group on Sunday at noon. 

The Military Council 

  • The junta Central Bank of Myanmar announced that it would lend more US dollars (USD) to importers of fuel oil and edible oil if necessary. 
  • According to sources, the officers for the Public Health Department in Naypyitaw, including the Director General, Daw Myint Myint Than, were infected with COVID-19. 
  • According to the junta Ministry of Electricity, they will construct five vehicle charging stations on the Yangon to Mandalay Highway, where 50 electric vehicles could be recharged simultaneously. 
  • According to the junta Investment Committee in Bago Region, they were able to create 7,458 job opportunities from local and foreign investments in the area between 1 February 2021 to August 2022. 
  • In Hpa An Township in Kayin State, the local investment department permitted the construction of a metal refinery with an investment worth 2 million USD. 
  • The junta Ministry of Labour expressed its objections to the points contained in an ILO Brief about the resilience of labor organisations and civil society organisations in Myanmar after the military coup. 
  • The junta Central Bank of Myanmar announced that Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand should transfer money via the Myanmar banks allowed by the Thai Central Bank. 
  • The military junta announced that it has arrested those who had shot dead two staff from Phyapone Township Administration Department in Ayeyarwaddy Region. 

Summary on 5 September 

  • The military junta cannot supply enough electricity throughout the country. However, they have arranged to construct five vehicle charging stations on the Yangon to Mandalay Highway, where 50 electric vehicles can be recharged simultaneously. Such a project is not for the good of the public, just for a handful of the junta people and privileged people. 
  • The junta army arrested a Rakhine Hip-hop singer for no apparent reason. The arrest of an artist who is well-known for his music depicting the current situation is prohibiting freedom of expression. During military rule, even commenting on social media could be a reason for to be arrested.
