The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG Acting President said that because of the military coup, the public is facing social, economic and educational hardships, which are leading to Myanmar becoming a failed state. He also said that the country had become poorer throughout the military dictatorships.
  • The NUG Acting President called on soldiers and police to join the PDF in building the country as they already know what is right or wrong in the revolution.
  • Union Prime Minister Man Win Khine Than expressed his sorrow for the degradation in all sectors of the country in the year since the military coup. He also called on revolutionary forces to remain united and continue their efforts towards a victorious revolution so that the public can escape from trouble as soon as possible.
  • The NUG Ministry of Education issued a handbook on home-based and community-based teaching of basic education.
  • The NUG Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that they were getting ready to talk to China and start a new relationship, which would fix the current degraded situation between the two.

Revolution Activities

  • In Yinmabin Township in Sagaing Region, an alliance of local PDFs attacked the junta army and Pyu Saw Htee forces stationed in Bantbway Village on Tuesday morning. Reportedly, four junta soldiers might have died.
  • On the 391st day of protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday, holding anti-junta signs.
  • In Yinmabin Township, a combined rally of villages led a march against the military dictatorship on Tuesday, calling for support for the prison protest.
  • On the 422nd day of protest, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • In Kalay Township IDPs are in urgent need of food and medicines.
  • In Hpakant Township in Kachin State, there was a march against the military dictatorship. They also showed their support for the KIA, PDF and NUG.
  • In Myitkyina Township, there was an attack carried out with a grenade launcher at the No. (2) Police Station on Monday night. Reportedly, there was fighting and an exchange of fire.
  • In Shwepyitha Township in Yangon Region, local PDFs conducted a mine attack on the junta security gate near No. (5) High School in Ward (9) at about 7:40 am Tuesday. Reportedly, two junta soldiers were injured in the incident.
  • In Thanlyin Township, Ye Htut, the junta-appointed administrator of Myohaung East Ward, was shot dead by local PDF at 7:39 am on Tuesday.
  • In South Dagon’s Myothit Township, Yin Yin Win, a USDP member in Ward (53), was shot dead by unknown gunmen at about 8:00 pm on Monday.
  • In Longlone Township in Tanintharyi Region, a combined rally of CDM teachers, CDM students and youths marched against the junta ‘s slavery education on the 4th day of the junta matriculation exam.
  • In Bogalay in Ayeyarwaddy Region, there was a bomb explosion near the high school in Ward (4) on Monday morning.
  • In Paletwa in Chin State, four young people in detention were sentenced to two years in prison at the junta township court.
  • In Paletwa, Ko Tin Tun Aung, who had informed the media that a white flag was being raised by the junta army in the area, was sentenced to 3 years in prison with hard labor.
  • In Kanbauk Village in Yebyu Township, two young people on a motorbike were shot by the junta army. Reportedly, one of them died and another one escaped.
  • In Longlone Township, a rally of students in school uniform marched against the junta’s slavery education on Tuesday morning.
  • In Pindaya in Shan South, there were exchanges of fire between junta soldiers and PDF members at the junta gate in Ywange Ward at 2:30 pm on Monday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • A Spokesperson for the Arakan Army (AA) said that there was military tension and that battles might break out due to interference by the military junta in ULA/AA administrations and judiciary affairs in Rakhine State.
  • In the Kawthoolei area under the control of the Karen National Union, there were (510) battles in March. According to Central Information and Communication, 429 junta soldiers and BGF members died.
  • In Kawkareik Township under the control of KNU Brigade (6), mortar rounds fired by the junta army fell in Taunggyain Village. Reportedly, three houses and a monastery were damaged. According to Karen Human Rights Watch, some unexploded mortar rounds were left in the village.
  • A spokesperson for the Arakan Army said that there had been a discussion in their central committee about banning the sale of the junta army products in Rakhine State.

The Military Council

  • According to the junta media, Soe Win, the second junta leader, went to the military training school Bahtoo in Shan South on Monday and urged the trainees to remain united, no matter what.
  • The military junta announced that every traveler must show their national identification card starting from 1 April. Reportedly, the chief officers of the junta armed forces are keeping their soldiers’ identity cards.
  • The junta Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its objection to the EUs proposal on Myanmar at the United Nations Security Council.
  • The military junta announced their strong condemnation of the report on Myanmar by the Director-General of the ILO.
  • According to local residents, the junta armed forces strictly inspected cars and motorbikes carrying food along Myeik-Taninthayi Road on Tuesday.
  • In Myawaddy in Karen State, the military junta sealed off a gold shop owned by U Thant Cin Aung, an NLD MP, and his parents’ house on Monday.

Summary on 6 April

  • According to a ULA/AA press conference, there was tension between them and the military junta, and there might be battles in the area. The AA has replaced the junta administration in Rakhine State. Feeling insulted, the military junta carried out inspections., leading to tensions between the AA and the military.
  • In Karen State, the KNU took control of junta army camps one after another. Reportedly, there might even be urban warfare.
  • In Yangon, Ayeyarwaddy, Taninthayi, Sagaing, Magwe and Mandalay, there were protests and revolutionary guerilla activities.
