The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • In a speech on the one-year anniversary of the People’s Defence Force- PDF, the NUG Minister of Defence said that it was necessary to keep fighting against the wavering junta army without giving them a break.
  • The NUG Ministry of Defence announced that a person had sent a ring in honor of the one-year anniversary of the PDF on 5 May.
  • In an exclusive interview with Yangon Khit Thit, the NUG Union Minister of Defence said that over the period of eight months in the People’s Defensive War, the PDFs had been getting the better of the junta army in terms of strategies.
  • The NUG announced that they had blacklisted and dismissed 89 non-CDM officers from the Department of Rural Development and the Department of Livestock under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation for their oppression of CDM staff.
  • The NUG announced that there would soon be a public sale of financial property and state-owned land and buildings confiscated by the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing.
  • In an interview with Yangon Khit Thit Media, the NUG Minister of Defence said that he hoped there would be a meeting between the NUG and the Arakan Army (AA) in the days to come. 
  • The NUG Ministry of Defence announced that with the money earned from YouTube Channels, they would buy the bonds for three people every month for the families of PDF members who lost their lives.

Revolutionary Activities

  • The Weapons Production Unit of the People’s Soldiers announced that they needed support to produce 500 drone bombs with doublethe explosive power of their current ones..
  • On Thursday, the General Strike of the Monywa-Amyint Road led to a protest against the military dictatorship.
  • On the 421 st day of protest, a combined rally from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Sagaing Region, local PDFs arrested the occupants of an Ooredoo telecommunication company car on the Monywa to Yargyi to Kalaywa Road because it failed to follow the PDF’s instructions. Reportedly, four tubs of oil and the car were confiscated.
  • In Myaung Township, the junta army raided a local PDF camp at about 1:00 am on 1 May. As they were attacked with a variety of mines, three junta soldiers died on the spot and 14 others were injured.
  • In a village of Shwebo Township, local people marched for the NUG and against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Monywa Township, leaders of the Public Strike marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Longlone Township in Tanintharyi Region, youths marched for the end of the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Longlone Township, a combined rally of students and local residents protested against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Kawhmu Township in Yangon Region, two junta soldiers, including an officer, died from gunfire. After the incident, more than 350 people from villages in Kawhmu and Kunchangone
  • were arrested and ill-treated during interrogation.
  • In Tandabin Township in Bago Region, police officer Myo Win Tun was shot dead by an unknown gunman in a tea-shop at about 10:00 am Thursday.
  • According to a CDM soldier, the junta army troop Ka-La-Ya (11) led by the military officer Khant Linn shot dead about 10 civilians for no apparent reason and set fire to houses when
  • they were in Karenni State for two months.
  • In Shan North, local ethnic armed forces attacked the junta army car with mortars and mines near Mawtaung Village. Reportedly, 11 junta soldiers, a driver and a bus conductor died.
  • Via social media, Daw Mya Theingi, a diplomat from the Myanmar Consulate in Chiang Mai of Thailand, stated that she had joined the CDM as she no longer wanted to serve the 
  • military junta.
  • In Amarapura Township in Mandalay Region, a local PDF conducted an attack on the juntaarmy gate on Thursday morning.
  • In Ngapudaw Township in Ayeyarwaddy Region, Ko Zaw Moe was shot dead by an unknown armed group in Thanbatgwin Village on Wednesday night.
  • Despite threats from the junta Pyu Saw Htee group, there was an anti-junta march in a market in Longlone Township on Thursday morning.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • The KIO officially announced on Thursday that they would not attend the peace discussions that they were invited to by junta leader Min Aung Hlaing.
  • In Kayin State, two police officers from the Thandaung Police Station were shot dead. According to a local PDF, weapons and bullets were confiscated.
  • According to CDF Matupi, two soldiers with three weapons joined them. To get back ther weapons, other junta soldiers have been arresting and ill-treating local people and taking
  • them as hostages.
  • In Chin State, the CDF conducted guerrilla attacks on the junta army for three days. According to the CNA, 20 junta soldiers died.

The Military Council

  • The junta leader said that it was necessary to carry out systematic administration for soldiers to be able to accomplish their missions and that the military administration was operating in
  • three sectors.
  • According to the junta health ministry, it started rolling out the Myanmar made Myancopharm, COVID-19 vaccine at the 50-bed Nay Pyi Taw Zabyu Thiri Hospital on Wednesday.
  • The junta leader said that the media should be prevented from publishing fake news, misinformation and hate speech, which could lead to instability in the country.
  • According to the Peace Process Steering Team (PPST), seven ethnic armed organisations (EAOs) who signed the National Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) would attend the peace
  • discussions after being invited by the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing.

  • fewer protests and revolutionary activities due to oppression and thorough inspections. 
  • In Magwe and Sagaing regions, and Kayin and Karenni states, there were battles between the junta armed forces and local defence forces. As the military junta has been conducting
  • many operations in Sagaing, it is necessary for forces from other areas to carry out attacks.
