The Military Council

  • According to the junta media, second junta leader Soe Win met with the deputy minister of defence of Russia and discussed multi-sectorial collaboration in weapon technology, education and health.
  • According to the junta newspaper, those who had killed railway police were arrested.
  • According to a daily newspaper of the military junta, the deadline was extended to the end of September for issuing application forms to the junta defence service academy, defence service technological academy and defence service medical academy.
  • In Ann Township of Rakhine State, first-dose and second-dose COVID-19 vaccination was carried out for those over 18 at IDP camps.

Revolution Activities

  • In Thipaw Township of Shan North, those living near Sint-In railway station became jobless as a result of COVID-19 transmission and the military coup. Reportedly, there were even some people who had to live on rice soup.
  • In Amarapura, a military truck was attacked with a mine on the street around Taungthaman lake at about 11:00 am Sunday. Reportedly, there might be a casualty in the incident.
  • On Sunday afternoon, a rally of Mandalay engineers expressed their desire for the emergence of federal democracy and against the military dictatorship. They also showed their support for the NUG.
  • On Sunday, a rally of Mandalay variety forces marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Amarapura Township, young residents scattered sheets of paper containing anti-junta slogans on Sunday.
  • On Sunday, Kayin youth conducted a campaign in support of the announcement by KNU that they would join hands with any anti-junta organizations and fight against all forms of dictatorship.
  • In Chin State, an armed group attacked the government office in Hakha from 3 different positions at about 11:30 pm Saturday. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died.
  • In Hakha Township, the workers connecting power lines for the housing project were shot with machine guns by the junta armed forces from a helicopter at about 1:00 pm Saturday.
  • According to a spokesperson of CDF, two fully-armed soldiers from the military joined Mindat Chinland Defence Force.
  • In Dawei, a rally of urban guerrilla people carried out a march, welcoming the participation of people’s soldiers and police in the revolution against the military junta.
  • According to residents, there were internet outages in Dawei and other areas.
  • On Saturday night, local residents protested against the military watchdog by banging pots and pans in 6 northern villages of Latbadaung Taung area.
  • On Sunday, a rally comprising various villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.
  • In Tamu Township, young people conducted a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship on Sunday morning.
  • In Latbadaung Taung area of Salingyi Township, the students and the public from Tawgyaung village expressed their desire for supporting the NUG and for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Sunday morning.
  • In Ye-U Township, Mg Khine Zaw, Phankacin villager aged 21, was shot dead by the junta armed forces at about 8:00 pm Saturday. According to local residents, his 3 companions were missing.
  • In Tantsi, two junta policemen were shot dead on Saturday evening. After that, the junta armed forces opened gunfire and exploded bombs in town. Reportedly, they also arrested some local residents.
  • In Mon State, Mawlamyein youth made an indoors strike against the military dictatorship on Sunday morning.
  • Baitthanoe PDF announced that they had exploded a bomb in an attack at a police housing in Magwe Region on Sunday morning to warn the police who did not join the CDM and kept working for the military junta.
  • On Sunday, PDF Pekhon made an offer that fully-armed soldiers who join the public would be guaranteed safety and would also be rewarded financially.
  • In Bago, Ko Ye Tun, a 100-household leader in Kyaukdwingone Ward and junta informer, was shot at about 9:30 pm Saturday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Monekoe Township of Shan North, there was fighting between the junta armed forces and MNDAA at Lwengu mountain near Phaungsai village, starting from 7:00 am Sunday.
  • PKPF announced on Sunday that there were 60 battles in Kayah (Karenni) State over the period of 3 months, between the junta armed forces and Karenni defence forces; KNPP, KNDF, KA, KNLP.
  • In Beelin Township, 4 military trucks towards Laykay village were attacked with mines by KNLA in Tapawgyay area. Reportedly, two military trucks were damaged and a junta soldier was injured.

Summary on 6th September

  • The development in education, health and weapon technology, the military junta has been discussed with Russia. It showed that as policy changes of China after the military coup, they were not willing to work together with the military junta. That might be the reason why the military junta went to Russia and looked for assistance.
  • In Shan North and Kayin State, there were ongoing battles with EAOs.
  • As for Mandalay, they did not lose momentum in protests. In addition, their urban guerrilla revolution began to take shape. They managed to attack convoys of military trucks even in the city area. In Sagaing, public protests still had great momentum and so did armed revolution. According to the junta media, those who had killed railway police were arrested in Yangon. As for revolutionaries, they had to be careful with social networks and media with regard to their activities. After the murder of railway police, the words of the group leader came on the media. Following that, security measures were tighter on public holidays. Through words, there might be information leaks. As for other states and regions, they had very few protests.
