Yangon Region

  • In Dagon Seikkam Township, Wunna Soe, junta-appointed 100-household leader of Ward (78) in Yuzana Garden City, was shot dead at his house at about 4:00 pm Thursday.
  • In Hlaing Township, there was an explosion at the garbage pile near Pro Mart on Ywamagyaung road in Ward (1) on Friday afternoon.
  • In Lammadaw Township, there was a bomb explosion at traffic police office of Bonegyi road traffic-lights at about 4:30 pm Friday.
  • In Kyimyindine Township, two bombs exploded at the general administration department on Friday evening. According to local residents, some people were injured in the incident.
  • Activists called for cooperation of the public in the 33rd anniversary movement of 8888 public revolution on 8th August.
  • A combined rally of Thingangyun Township Students’ Union (Ba-Ka-Tha) and guerrilla forces from various townships made a protest on Friday morning, “Let strive together for the unfinished 8888 public movement”.

Mandalay Region

  • According to Moegoke Guerrilla Force, they punished an informer to the military junta and goer of Moegoke administration office the previous day as a warning. That man was injured and he was sent to hospital for medical treatment.
  • On Thursday night, a rally of Mandalay Variety Forces marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • On Thursday night, Mandalay Monks’ Union recited Parittas for the public as usual and protested against the military watchdog.
  • On Thursday, a rally of Pyi/Gun with strong determination made a night strike against the military watchdog. Pyigyi Dagun Sayardaw in the protest said, “Get back all debts of 88 in 21”. He then called for cooperation of the public in 33rd anniversary of 8888 public movement.
  • On Thursday night, a combined rally of Maha Aungmye Township led an anti-junta movement, “Get back all the debts of 88 in 21”.
  • On Friday morning, Myataung rally expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.
  • On Friday, Mandalay Monks Union recited Parittas for the end of the military dictatorship.
  • A rally of monks’ union marched for driving away the military watchdog on Friday.

Sagaing Region

  • In Pale Township, there was a fighting between the junta armed forces and PDF at Nagama mountain near Kandaunt village at about 7:00 pm Thursday.
  • On Friday, Kalay residents continued their protest against the military dictatorship.
  • In Sonechaung village of Yinmabin Township, there was a march against the military watchdog on Thursday evening.
  • On Friday morning, there was an anti-junta movement in a village of Shwebo Township.
  • A rally comprising various villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East could not take to the streets on Friday due to the weather conditions. However, they conducted an online strike against the military dictatorship.
  • Shanni National Army had a clash with the junta armed forces who entered their areas with plain clothes while they were doing activities for COVID-19 prevention.

Taninthayi Region

  • On Friday afternoon, a rally of Longlone Township made an indoors strike - “Get back all the old bloody debt of 88 in 21”.
  • In Dawei, anti-junta youth conducted a guerrilla indoors protest, “Response of various rallies”, on Friday morning.
  • On Thursday night, Dawei General Strike, in cooperation with a rally of youth/students expressed their disapproval of the military watchdog.
  • On Friday morning, there was a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship in the rural community of Thayetchaung Township.
  • On Friday evening, there was an anti-junta movement in the rural community of Longlone Township, “Let’s strive together for the unfinished 8888 public movement”.
  • In the eastern area of Dawei, the youth led a protest against the military watchdog on Friday.

Kachin State

  • In Pha-Kant Township, there was a humanless strike against the military dictatorship in Lonekhine village on Friday morning.
  • In Kamai Township, KIA attacked the junta armed forces at three spots on Wednesday alone. Reportedly, the military junta had a great loss, including the death of 6 soldiers.

Shan State

  • In Muse Township of Shan North, there was a battle between the junta army and a combined force of KIA-MNDAA at the Chinese cemetery hill in Jukoke-Pansai at about 12:30 pm Friday.
  • Southern Shan State Generations announced that a junta soldier from Ka-Ma-Ya (516) who came to the area for investigating a PDF camp with a drone in Shan South was shot. Reportedly, he died of heavy bleeding.
  • On Friday, Wa National Party announced their strong denunciation against the signature of U Sai Paung Nut, chair of their party, which was included in an announcement of 28 political parties, led by USDP, welcoming the promise of the military junta for elections.

Kayar State

  • According to KNPP, the junta armed forces arrested 3 local residents at Kayan Thaya village check-point in Loikaw on Friday, accusing them of having affiliation with a PDF.

Mon State

  • On Friday, Mawlamyein youth conducted an indoors strike, “Support PDFs to fight against the military junta”.
  • In Kyaik-Hto Township, KNLA attacked a group of 8 junta soldiers from Ka-Ma-Ya (2) conducting a secret patrol at the cross-road of Wingalaung and Kinmun Sakun on Thursday.
  • In Kyaik-Hto Township, a car of a social organization was attacked with mines near the signboard on entrance to Theinzayat on Yangon-Mawlamyein road. Reportedly, the car was damaged and 3 passengers were injured.

Kayin State

  • According to Matraw newsletter, there were two battles between the KNLA and the junta armed forces in Pha-Pun District on 3rd August. Reportedly, two junta soldiers died and two others were injured.

Summary on 6th August

  • In Yangon, there were almost no protests. However, guerrilla attacks took place all across the city. As for the junta armed forces, they have been conducting investigations.
  • Even amidst attempts for arrest in Mandalay, public protests emerged again. Local residents expressed their desire against the military dictatorship in any possible way.
  • In Sagaing Region, there were protests against the military dictatorship as well as clearance activities of junta-pillars.
  • In addition to Kayar, Chin and Kayin states, there were battles in Mon and Shan states.
  • As for other states and regions, they had very few protests.
