The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • On Tuesday, the NUG Ministry of Defence sent a congratulatory statement on the 73 rd anniversary of Kawthulay Army.
  • On Monday, there was a meeting in Sagaing and Magwe regions between township resource management teams established under the NUG Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation. The secretary and deputy secretary from the ministry
  • attended.
  • At 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, there was an online meeting between the NUG Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration and the public’s police force.

Revolutionary Activities

  • Prior to the anniversary of the 7 th July, the Youths Union conducted a public talk on a YBS bus in Yangon on Wednesday.
  • To mark the 60 th anniversary of the 7 th July Uprising, students and youths marched against the military dictatorship somewhere in Yangon on Wednesday.
  • In Bawlake Township in Karenni State, two police members joined the local PDF on 3 July.
  • On Wednesday, the Rural Land Team donated drinking water and nutrition powder for children at an IDP camp in Karenni State.
  • In Ayadaw Township in Sagaing Region, a rally of local people, protected by PDF members, marched against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.
  • In Kani Township, a local Spring Revolution force led a protest against the military dictatorship in a village on Wednesday morning.
  • On Wednesday, a combined rally of villagers from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship, raising a banner for the great momentum of the revolution.
  • On 4 July, Kalay PDF Brigade (3) found three bags of opium from a six-wheel truck during their inspection on the Kalay-Tamu Road.
  • In Myaung Township, the junta army raided Sulegone Village and set it on fire on Monday. Reportedly, 28 people’s houses were burnt to ashes.
  • On Tuesday, Tamu PDF Brigade (1) celebrated its one-year anniversary.
  • In Madaya Township in Mandalay Region, five Pyu Saw Htee and Thwethaught members, who were allegedly junta informers, were shot dead by Mdy PDF on 30 June and 3 July.
  • According to Justice for Myanmar, the junta propaganda media MRTV was blocked due to their live programs on websites and mobile applications.

Ethnic Armed Organisations
 

  • On Wednesday, the Pa-O National Organisation under the junta announced that every adult in their self-administered region of Shan State would be recruited for their force.
  • In Karenni State, a military convoy was attacked and junta soldiers died in the incident. Comrade Buddy, whose uniform has insignias taken from a dead military officer, was a member of Spring Hospital.
  • In Hpakant Township in Kachin State, a combined force of the KIA and a PDF arrested seven members of the junta police along with four weapons.
  • In Pekone on the Shan-Karenni state border, there was fighting between the junta armed forces and the Karenni National Defence Force (KNDF) on 4 July. Reportedly, more than 40 junta soldiers died. As for KNDF, they lost 11 members.
  • In the Kawthule area under the Karen National Union (KNU), there were 365 battles in June between the junta army supported by the Border Guard Force and the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) with the Karen National Defence Organization (KNDO). Reportedly, 410 members of the junta armed forces died and 335 others were injured.

The Military Council

  • In Kolan in Shan south, Sai Sain, a member of the so-called People’s Army (758) under the military junta, was killed.
  • The junta leader said that they had been upgrading the junta navy to protect the exclusive economic zone of Myanmar maritime territory.
  • The junta Election Commission stated that they had inspected Shan National League for Democracy (SNLD) at their branch office in Shan State from 30 June to 3 July, in accordance with the election law.
  • On Wednesday morning, a delegation of the Lahu Democratic Party left Thailand for Tachileik in Myanmar, to attend the junta's peace discussions.
  • The military junta announced that COVID-19 vaccines and related aid kits had arrived at Kalay airport on Monday to help in COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment for people in Sagaing Region and Chin State.
  • The junta Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it was not necessary for Myanmar people abroad to return home to extend their passports and that they could do it at embassies as usual.

Summary on 7 July

  • In Kayin State and Karenni State, there were heavy battles between the junta armed forces and local defence forces andethnic armed organisations. Reportedly, both sides suffered casualties.
  • The junta armed forces have been practicing military exercises against foreign forces that could enter the country via sea. On the other hand, they have suffered great losses in their battles against local PDFs and ethnic armed organisations (EAOs) throughout the country.
