The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG Deputy Minister of Education said that schools in ethnic areas were crowded with students studying the interim education program.
  • The NUG Minister of Communication, Information and Technology said that there was no way to ignore the sacrifices and persistence of CDM staff and heroes of the Spring Revolution. He also expressed his sincere thanks to them.
  • In commemoration of World Environmental Day on Sunday, the NUG Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and the KNU Focal Person of Forestry had a discussion titled ‘The only earth, bio-social equality and escape from the dictatorship’.

Revolutionary Activities

  • According to the Media Monitor Collective, the junta armed forces have set fire to nearly 20,000 houses all over the country and over 1.2 million people have been made IDPs within 15 months of the military coup.
  • On Saturday, there was a fund-raising event for the people in Chin State, who have had to leave home due to invasion by the junta army.
  • A spokesperson of the US Foreign Department said that they had condemned the statement by the military junta confirming the death penalty for pro-democracy opposition leaders as it was a violation of human rights and justice.
  • In Amarapura Township in Mandalay Region, the junta armed forces raided and destroyed more than 150 houses on Monday morning.
  • In Natoegyi Township and Myingyan Township, local PDFs attacked the junta army on Sunday night and Monday morning. Reportedly, a junta soldier died and three others were injured.
  • In Mandalay, the junta squatter eviction team was attacked on Saturday evening. Reportedly, some members of the junta armed forces got injured.
  • In Salingyi Township in Sagaing Region, people of Western Chindwin led an anti-junta demonstration on Monday, hanging a banner in front of the school in Nyaungbingyi Village where the junta army had been stationed.
  • In Kantbalu Township, the junta army raided Hnawgone Village at about 11:30 am on Monday. Reportedly, they arrested some villagers and set fire to houses.
  • In Kani Township, the junta army was attacked with mines by a local PDF between Thabyaydaw Village and Ohnbinseit Village on Sunday. Reportedly, five junta soldiers died.
  • In Yinmabin Township, the junta army set fire to Bantbway Village on Monday morning.
  • On the 452 nd day of protest, a combined rally of villagers from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship on Monday morning.
  • On Sunday night, an alliance of PDFs attacked Salingyi Police Station and other locations where there were junta armed forces. Reportedly, five junta soldiers, including two captains, were injured.
  • In Kani Township, the junta army raided Ohnbinseik Village and set fire to houses on Sunday. Reportedly, they also killed a villager.
  • In Shwebo Township, a rally of villagers marched against the military dictatorship on Monday morning.
  • In Hpakant in Kachin State where there has been an internet blackout for over 9 months, there was a march for the KIA, PDF and NUG on Monday. The marchers also protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Chaung-U Township, the junta army was attacked with mines three times by an alliance of 19 PDFs near Kanzee Village on Sunday. Reportedly, there were exchanges of fire and 20 junta soldiers died.
  • In Yangon, the junta armed forces cleared anti-junta posters from the corner of Shwegonedie-Yetashay at about 7:30 am on Monday. Reportedly, they did it hesitantly in case of a bomb explosion there.
  • In North Okkalapa Township, a combined force of youth and ACPLF blew up the CCTV control center at the Kanthaya Crossroads at about 5:30 am on Monday.
  • Amidst tight security measures by the junta armed forces, there was an anti-junta movement somewhere in Yangon on Monday.
  • In Yetashay Township in Bago Region, the junta administrator of Htautgyantgwin Village was shot at about 6:00 pm Saturday.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In the area under the administration of the Kachin Independent Organization (KIO), a total of 2,192 students sat for the 2021-22 academic year matriculation exam at 9 exam centers. Reportedly, 1,680 of them passed the exam.
  • In Thaton Township under Karen National Union- KNU Brigade (1), the junta armed forces at Wiyaw Camp have been firing mortars on a daily basis. Consequently, more than 3,000 local people from four villages have had to flee, according to KNU Central Communication.
  • In Demoso Township in Karenni State, the KNDF donated stationery to 400 IDP children on Monday.
  • On 20 May, there was an event on the completion of training for PDF Zoland Batch (8) in Chin State.

The Military Council

  • According to police sources, the military junta transferred about 200 policemen from Ayeyarwaddy Region to Rakhine State at the end of May.
  • In the southern part of Myanmar, the Kawthaung to Yanaung border camp was temporarily closed. Reportedly, it was officially reopened from Myanmar’s side on Monday.
  • The military junta falsely claimed that a PDF had shot dead the headmistress of Sitha Village middle school in Monywa in Sagaing Region.
  • The Minister of Electricity and Energy said that the ministry would make an effort to produce sufficient power by the summer of next year.
  • According to the junta media, there was an ongoing discussion between the military junta and NDAA (Maila) on Monday.
  • The military junta announced that they had extended the deadline for the basic education staff who had been away from their duty, to resume work.
  • The junta police force stated that they would start to catch groups of robbers and pickpockets on YBS buses.
  • The junta Minister of Immigration and Population said that government employees were to be faithful to the nation and their departments.
  • According to U Khin Mg Oo, a member of the junta Election Commission, the military junta regard the current period to be a pre-election period. He also said that amendments had been made to the election law, which would suit proportional representation (PR).
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that 25.8% of the country by area was now classed as natural and wildlife reserves and that the aim was to have 30% of the country classed as natural and wildlife reserves by 2030.
  • The junta leader also said that they would work less with businesses that depend on natural resources.

  • Because the military junta has mobilized a large number of armed forces in Rakhine State, there is heightened tension in the area and there might be fighting anytime.
  • With a step forward in the revolution all over the country, revolutionary forces managed to take control of junta army camps one after another. As for Sagaing, local PDFs have become more powerful and now they can even conduct attacks in urban area.
  • No matter how hard the military junta tries to suppress the anti-junta movements, the public keeps supporting the revolution. Modern technology has also been a powerful tool for the revolution.
