Spring Revolution Daily News for 7 October 2022 

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • Union Prime Minister Man Win Khine Than, the Chair of the Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration, said that there were various frictions between local revolutionary forces so respective Ministries must resolve such issues quickly to reduce the conflicts. 
  • At 8:00 pm on Wednesday, there was an online meeting between the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the Spring Revolution Myanmar Muslims’ Network. 
  • According to the End of Dictatorship under the NUG Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment, it has sold up to 99% of the land for Spring Yangon Project and earned over 16 million USD. 
  • The Interim Chin National Consultative Council announced that it had great respect for local teachers, educational staff and students who have joined the CDM for the revolution in Chin State. 
  • At 12:30 pm on Tuesday, there was an online meeting between the Committee on Public Affairs and the Committee on Women, Youth and Children under the CRPH. 
  • At 3:00 pm on Tuesday, there was an online meeting between the Committee on Labor Affairs under the CRPH and the NUG Ministry of Labour. 
  • In accordance with the right to self-defence, the public has been taking part in a People’s Defensive War. Reportedly, 75 members of the junta armed forces died and 41 others were injured on Wednesday. 
  • According to Mindat Township Public Administration in Chin State, an essay contest and sport events were held at a CDM school in honor of World Teachers’ Day. 

Revolutionary Activities 

  • In Kantbalu Township in Sagaing Region, the junta army raided Zawchaung Village for the fourth time at 12:00 pm on Wednesday. Reportedly, they set it on fire. 
  • On their 574th day of protest, a combined rally of villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday, chanting anti-junta slogans. 
  • In Monywa Township, the junta army stayed in Monyway Kyway Mone Village on Tuesday and Wednesday. Reportedly, they set fire to over 20 houses. 
  • In Khin-U Township, the junta army blocked off the roads, causing a traffic jam of 127 cars and over 300 passengers for more than a week. 
  • In Mabaim Township in Shan State, an essay contest was conducted at a CDM school in honor of World Teachers’ Day. 
  • In Phayar Thonesu Sub-Township of Kayin State, the junta army conducted an air strike on Makkatha Village at about 3:00 am on Thursday. Reportedly, the village monastery was damaged. 
  • In Phayar Thonesu Sub-Township, local people from six villages have had to run away due to the military operation of the junta air force. 
  • In South Dagon Township in Yangon Region, Toru Kubota, a Japanese citizen and documentary maker, was arrested in an anti-junta protest on 30 July. According to AFP, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. 
  • To raise the revolutionary fund for Kayin State, Karenni State and Sagaing Region, there would be lighting festival campaigns. 
  • In Mawtaung on the border of Myanmar and Thailand, there was fighting at two spots with exchanges of gunfire at about 8:00 pm on Wednesday. 
  • In Kyaukse Township in Mandalay Region, the junta armed forces shot at a man from Yanbatlone Village and arrested him at about 11:00 pm on Wednesday. 
  • According to Patheingyi Township PDF, they had to take mercy on the general public in their mine attack on a military convoy near Tonebo Village on the Mandalay to Pyin Oo Lwin Road and as a result, they could not complete their attack. 
  • In Hakha in Chin State, the junta army arrested 19 people who were patients, their family members and waiting for COVID-19 vaccinations at the General Hospital at about 4:00 pm on Tuesday and sent them to the police station. 

Ethnic Armed Organisations 

  • In Duplaya District under the Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade (6), the junta army conducted an air strike on Makkatha Village Monastery. According to the KNU, a monk was injured and the monastery was burnt down. 
  • In the area under control of SSPP/SSA, there was an event on the completion of basic military training Batch (3) on Wednesday. Reportedly, 500 people attended the training. 
  • In Manton in the Ta’ang Palaung Area, there were constant battles between the junta army and a combined force of the KIA and PDFs. On Wednesday, the townspeople had to flee. 

The Military Council 

  • Min Aung Hlaing claimed that a natural gas reserve had been found and that production could begin in the next three years. He added that there would be an electric car service in Pyay. 
  • According to the military junta, their Ambassador gave presented his credentials to the President of Belarus. 
  • In Gwa Township in Rakhine State, the junta local administration conducted a population census for the voter list in Kingyone Ward on Thursday morning. 
  • The junta leader said that the Ancient Pyu City of Sri Ksetra should become a world-class cultural zone that can highlight the history of Myanmar. 
  • The chair of the junta Union Election Commission told committee members that they must work for the upcoming election to ensure that it is fair for the public. 
  • At 1:00 pm on Thursday, the junta Ministry of Natural Resources announced again that it would sell the gold weighing 3 viss to the person or organisation that makes the best tender offer. 
  • The junta leader said that they had been making an effort in various sectors to increase economic development and raise the standard of living.

Summary on 7 October 

  • The junta armed forces have been burning local villages and killing the people for no apparent reason. Consequently, they have disgusted the public. Even so, the junta leader told the junta army to have a heart-to-heart with the general public and accused PDFs of using civilians as human shields. In reality, they themselves have been destroying even religious buildings. 
  • In Kayin State, the junta army committed war crimes by deliberately launching an air strike on a monastery where IDPs had been sheltering. In Sagaing Region, the junta army set fire to villages and use local people as human shields.
