Yangon Region

  • At about 7:00 pm Friday, there were two explosions near Kamayut police station. According to witnesses, the junta armed forces blocked off the streets and shouted offensive words.
  • On Saturday morning, some youth of Yangon made a protest against the military dictatorship inside cars.
  • Anti-Fascism Force announced that they had carried out explosions in Lammadaw, Kyimyindine, Dagon Seikkam and South Okkalapa townships the previous day.
  • In South Okkalapa Township, the junta armed forces were waiting near Myintha market on Thanthuma road as they got information that some young people would get together there and express their desire against the military dictatorship.

Mandalay Region

  • On Friday, a rally of Aungmye Thazan Schools made a night strike against the military watchdog.
  • On Friday night, a rally of Mandalay Variety Forces with strong determination marched against the military watchdog.
  • On Friday night, Mandalay Monks’ Union recited Parittas for the public as usual and protested against the military dictatorship.
  • Prior to the 33rd anniversary of 8888 public movement, a combined rally of youth from Ba-Ka-Tha students and collective engineers marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Saturday morning.
  • On Saturday afternoon, a rally of General Strike comprising students, staff, workers, farmers and the general public expressed their objection to the military dictatorship, chanting anti-junta slogans and holding signs - “Let’s strive together for the unfinished 8888 public movement”.
  • In Kyaukse Township, Kyaw Htin Aung, Pyilone Naing ward administrator, was shot at about 11:40 am Saturday.
  • On Saturday, a rally of Chan/Zi in Unity marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Myingyan, a rally of Technology College Students (Ba-Ka-Tha Central) and the oppressed marched for the end of the military dictatorship on the roads inside highway express compound, holding signs - “Let’s strive together for unfinished 8888 public movement”.
  • On Saturday, Mandalay Monks’ Union made an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • Dr. Zaw Myint Maung, Mandalay Regional Chief Minister and a detainee at Obo Prison since the military coup, has been receiving medical treatment at Mandalay General Hospital due to his health condition.
  • MDY PDF announced that some of their members had been arrested and some others had lost their lives. After such incidents, they had been organizing their revolution in a more systematic way.
  • On Saturday, a rally of monks’ union marched against the military watchdog, “Let’s get back all bloody debt of 88 in 21”.
  • On Saturday afternoon, a rally of Mandalay LGBT expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.

Sagaing Region

  • On Friday night, the youth led a protest against the military watchdog in a village of Monywa-Amyint roadside community, banging pots and pans.
  • A rally comprising various villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched for the end of the military dictatorship at about 3:00 pm Saturday.
  • In Khin-U Township, Zaw Min Naing, junta-appointed administrator of Monhla village, died with gunshots and knife wounds at his house at about 1:00 am Saturday.
  • Kalay townspeople marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Shwebo Township, a rally of local residents expressed their desire against the military dictatorship.
  • In Kalay, 7 young people were arrested by junta police near No. (11) school in Mingala Garden Ward at about 10:00 am Saturday while they were on their way to fetch boiled cereal. Among them, the child of a junta soldier was released.

Taninthayi Region

  • On Saturday, a rally of Dawei youth made indoors strike, “Get back bloody debt of 88 in 21”.
  • In Longlone Township, Lower Yebyu General Strike expressed their desire for driving away the military watchdog on Saturday evening.
  • In Longlone Township, there was a march against the military dictatorship in Nyinmaw village on Saturday evening. They also showed their support for the NUG.

Magwe Region

  • In Magwe, the junta military helicopters hovered over the wards at about 2:16 pm Saturday. Consequently, local residents were worried.
  • In Natmauk Township, a rally of general public protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Myaing Township, Basic Education General Strike Committee, in cooperation with the public from southern zone, expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship on Saturday.

Shan State

  • Southern Shan State Generations SSS-G announced that they were successful with their tests in destroying strongly-built buildings and bunkers of the enemy in a war operation area via remote control from a distance of 500 metres. They had also been practicing every day without fail.
  • In Shan North, the junta armed forces raided the houses in wards of Kyaukme on Friday night. They then arrested 3 men from Ward (7), accusing them of being PDF members.

Chin State

  • In Kanpetlet, the junta armed forces opened fire wildly at about 11:00 pm Friday. Reportedly, Kanpetlet church and some houses were damaged.

Summary on 7th August

  • In Yangon, the junta armed forces got information about protests and thus, they had been waiting in advance. Amidst tight security measures, there were constant activities of guerrilla revolution.
  • Even amidst attempts for arrest in Mandalay, public protests had great momentum. Mandalay PDF announced that they managed to organize their force more systematically. Consequently, there might be guerrilla revolution again in Mandalay.
  • In Sagaing Region, there were public protests against the military dictatorship as well as clearance activities of junta-pillars.
  • In Kayar, Chin and Kayin states, the news about battles was not heard. However, the armed revolution of Shan South youth reached a higher level.
