The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Ministry of Human Rights-NUG called on pro-federal people from all over the world to collectively join the revolution against the military dictatorship in the country with silent human rights so that everyone could enjoy their rights again.
  • Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Risks Management-NUG announced that voluntary professionals from Mind Healers, established to support those with grief by the impact of the COVID-19 third wave, had provided counseling service to over 400 people.
  • Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation-NUG announced that the country was at risk of more natural disasters such as floods and landslide due to over-extraction of natural resources like forestry and gems by the military junta so that they could seize power for long after the coup on 1st February.

Revolution Activities

  • In a village of Wetlet Township, a rally of basic education students’ union protested against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.
  • In Dontaw Village of Salingyi Township, Daw Win Yi, a mentally-impaired woman aged 65, was killed by the junta army. Reportedly, her body was found near Yamar Bridge on Wednesday morning and the funeral was carried out.
  • In Tantsi Township, the junta army was attacked with mines by local PDF on Wednesday morning. Reportedly, 6 junta soldiers, including an officer, died.
  • In Mintainbin Village of Pale Township, local PDF took out a junta police member who was drinking at a liquor shop at about 8:00 pm Tuesday and killed him outside of the village.
  • After the junta army stationed in Karbaunggya Village of Tantsi Township for 2 months, they set fire to almost every house there.
  • As a 273-day protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.
  • On Wednesday, Kalay General Strike conducted a campaign at crowded markets for participation in a silent strike against the military dictatorship on 10th December.
  • In a village of Shwebo Township, there was a march against the military dictatorship on Wednesday morning.
  • At about 2:00 am Wednesday, an alliance of local PDFs shot a mortar at the junta army stationing at Shwetaung-Oo near Chindwin River Bank.
  • At 4:55 am Wednesday, Democratic Guerrilla Force – DGF conducted an attack at the junta army camp on entrance to Monywa. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died and inquiries were being made for details about the injured.
  • In Meittila of Mandalay Region, the junta army made two men on a motorbike stop in front of No. (2) high school at 4:15 pm Wednesday. According to a witness, the man on the back got off the motorbike and he was shot dead while putting up his hands.
  • On Wednesday, Mandalay Monks’ Union led an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • In Chanmya Thazi Township, a combined force of GZP and Black Image carried out an attack with an explosive at the junta army taking security outside No. (18) affiliated high school at 8:25 am Wednesday.
  • On Wednesday morning, Yadanabon Students’ Union, in cooperation with the public, expressed their objection to the military dictatorship, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, a combined rally of youth and basic education students’ union protested against the military dictatorship on Wednesday morning, burning posters of military products and raising a banner - ‘Let’s boycott army products to uproot the military dictatorship’.
  • In Phakant of Kachin State, a powerful rally of local people marched against the military dictatorship on Wednesday. They also showed their support for KIA, PDF, NUG and NUCC.
  • In Kayah (Karenni) State, Karenni Generation Z army (KGZ army) announced on Wednesday that they had obtained 26 more weapons, procured with donation money.
  • At about 9:30 pm Tuesday, two control boxes of MyTel telecom tower were blown up In Mingala Ward of Tightgyi Township. After the incident, the junta armed forces arrived there and they were attacked with explosives again. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died and some others were injured.
  • In Tightgyi Township, a convoy of junta soldiers and Pyusawti members on patrol was attacked with various mines by PDFs near Moekalar Village on U-To Road at about 10:30 pm Tuesday. Reportedly, about 10 junta soldiers were injured.
  • In East Dagon Myothit Township of Yangon Region, Special Humanitarian Encounter Defence (SHED) and RGA Alliance carried out 3 explosion attacks on Minye Kyawzwa Road in Ward (5), once at about 7:00 pm and twice at about 8:00 pm on Tuesday. Reportedly, 5 junta soldiers died and some others were injured.
  • In North Okkalapa Township, there were two explosions on Thunandar Road in Ta Ward at 7:15 pm and 7:25 pm respectively on Tuesday.
  • In Mayangone Township, PDFs blew up a CCTV Control Box under Bayintnaung overpass with 3 powerful remote mines at about 5:30 am Wednesday.
  • In Thaketa Township, local guerrilla force conducted an explosion attack at a departmental building where the junta army had been stationing on Thumana Road at about 2:00 am Wednesday.
  • On Wednesday, a combined rally of Yangon-based university students’ unions, in cooperation with other revolutionary forces, took to the streets and marched against the military dictatorship, holding anti-junta signs.
  • In Lammadaw Township, Daw Khin Myo, a member of an NLD women’s group, was shot dead by Pyusawti members.
  • In Tamway Township, the junta army tried to arrest a person at about 8:30 pm Tuesday, accusing him of shooting video of military cars on patrol. According to local residents, he jumped down from the 5th floor instead of being arrested.
  • In Taungoo of Bago Region, two bombs exploded near the General Statue at about 8:15 am Wednesday. Reportedly, 2 motorbike taxi men were injured.
  • In Pauk Township of Magwe Region, a supporting car of the junta army was attacked with mines by local PDF as they were heading to Mindat of Chin State.
  • In Myaungmya Township of Ayeyarwaddy Region, there was a bomb explosion somewhere near the district police office and general administration office at about 3:50 am Wednesday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Phapun District under the control of the KNU Regiment (5), KNLA opened fire twice at the junta armed forces near Kwaythay Village on Wednesday morning. According to Mutraw Newsletter, it was still unknown about casualties among junta soldiers.
  • In Thatone of Mon State, a unit of junta soldiers on foot was attacked with mines by a combined force of KNU/KNLA and local PDFs near Tonebogyi Village at about 8:00 am Monday.

The Military Council

  • According to the junta media, the junta responsible personnel of the Central Bank joined the 10th anniversary of ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office via video conferencing on Wednesday afternoon.
  • According to the junta newspaper, U Aung Naing Oo, the junta minister of investment and foreign economic relations, led a coordination meeting with related ministries and organizations for cooperation between Myanmar and China.
  • At the graduation ceremony of the junta army, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that the military must protect three main national causes regardless of the political system or government in the country.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing told the junta army captains that Myanmar people typically respect the national characteristics and thus, it must be protected and promoted.
  • The military junta charged U Ohn Win, Union Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, with a section under the anti-corruption law, regarding the case in which Daw Khin Kyi Foundation had procured teak and other timber for the Layaungtaw project construction.
  • On Tuesday, the military junta sealed off the houses of Dr. Daw Shwe Pone, Deputy Minister of Health-NUG, and of 2 NLD MPs of Bago Region.

Summary on 8th December

  • The military junta have been unjustly arresting and charging Ministers and responsible personnel of the public’s government. It seems they are seeking to do so with every one of them. Such news can be seen in the junta newspaper daily.
  • In Dontaw Village of Salingyi Township in Sagaing Region, the junta army by Min Aung Hlaing committed genocide again by killing 4 people, including a girl of 11 and a woman with mental impairment, in addition to burning a group of youth alive to death. They also conducted invasive attacks with too much force in those areas and thus, a combination of local PDFs had to fight back. Assumingly, the junta armed forces have been trying hard to regain control of such areas because of the Chinese bronze mining project there.
  • Besides public protests, guerrilla revolution gained great momentum in Yangon, Mandalay, Magwe, Ayeyarwaddy, Dawei and Bago.
