The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • On Tuesday, the NUG Central Bureau against Terrorism declared the junta army, the junta’s Myanmar’s Economic Holdings and Myanmar’s Economic Corporation to be terrorist groups.
  • Under the guidance of the NUG Ministry of Women, Youth and Children, Alliance for Democracy in Myanmar will lead the 16-day campaign for the elimination of violence against women and children in front of the cityhall in San Francisco of the United States.
  • At 10:00 am on Wednesday, there was a meeting (12/2022) between the NUG Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration and Township Public Administration Teams from Sagaing Region and Magwe Region.
  • The NUG released a statement that the junta’s activities related to environmental and natural resources against the public’s wishes were illegal ones.
  • On 9 December, the NUG Ministry of Education and the NUG Ministry of Human Rights will organise a paper reading session and discussion on the social development of CDM teachers, educational staff and students.

Revolutionary Activities

  • On Wednesday, political prisoners from Kyaik Mayaw Prison went on hunger strike against the junta’s death sentence on seven students from Dagon University.
  • In Ayeyarwady Region, Zaw Sit Aung, the junta Prison Director, has been sending for political prisoners for no apparent reason and beating them. On Tuesday night, he beat a political prisoner named Ko Thurain Linn.
  • In memory of two members of Yinmabin Township PDF who lost lives last year, a combined rally from Salingyi and Yinmabin, in cooperation with the rally from Shwe Nwe Thwe, marched against the military dictatorship.
  • A report on the one-year anniversary of the founding of Chaung-U PDF said they managed to kill 129 junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members within one year, and injured 54 others.
  • In Pale Township, local defence forces attacked a combined troop of 200 junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members coming out of Inmati Village. Reportedly, eight junta members died and many others were injured.
  • In Monywa, there was a bomb attack using a drone on the junta army at the entrance to the town. Reportedly, a junta soldier died.
  • In Salingyi Township, a rally from Ahrman Thit marched against the military dictatorship, holding signs against the junta army killing people and burning villages.
  • In Yinmabin North, there was a dawn protest against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.
  • On Wednesday morning, the junta army set fire to Konete Village in Dibeyin Township and Aungthagone Village in Htigyaint Township for no apparent reason.
  • In Myaung Township, the junta army set fire to Shwe Bonetha Village. Reportedly, nine houses were burnt down to ashes.
  • In Ayadaw Township, an old woman was injured while she was hiding from the junta army burning Namathin Village. Reportedly, she died on Sunday.
  • In Madayar Township in Mandalay Region, local PDFs conducted a mine attack on a junta army truck, killing three junta soldiers.
  • On Wednesday, Maymyo General Strike protested against the junta’s death sentence on seven students from Dagon University.
  • In Natoegyi Township, the junta Pyu Saw Htee arrested and killed six local people from Min Village, including four members of the National League for Democracy (NLD).
  • In Hpakant in Kachin State, the junta army stationed in the town wildly shot heavy artillery on Tuesday night. Consequently, the public’s houses and cars were damaged.
  • In Phyapone in Ayeyarwady Region, there was a protest against the junta’s death sentence on seven students from Dagon University on Wednesday.
  • In an interview with News 10 ABC on Tuesday, Mr. Sean Turnell stated that State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi was proud of Myanmar’s youth.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Kawkareik Township under Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade (6), the junta armed forces have been shooting shells at local villages.
  • In Hpapun District in Kayin State, a combined force of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and FFD Drone Force attacked three junta army camps, causing a large number of casualties among junta soldiers.
  • In Chin State, three soldiers from the junta army Ka-La-Ya (266) based in Hakha joined CDF Senthang, together with their weapons.
  • According to Salween News, the KNLA attacked and took control of the junta’s Thiyota Camp on the bank of the Salween River.
  • According to the administration office of the Kokang Self-Administered Region, the rumors about the current local conditions were false.

The Military Council

  • Ko Linn Htet Naing, a former leader of the Ba-Ka-Tha Students’ Union and political activist, was sentenced to three years in prison.
  • Russia and Myanmar signed seven bilateral agreements.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that if Russian businesses invest in Myanmar, they would be given privileges such as tax exemptions, easy investment procedures and visa-free entry.
  • The junta propaganda media stated that the junta Chief Minister of Kayin State had provided financial support to 93 teachers, who returned to the workplace, at Zwegabin Hall on Tuesday.

Summary on 8 December

  • In the tenure of previous military dictators, they handed the country to China. As for the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing, he has sold the country to Russia for his own benefit. He seems to be letting Russia do what it wants in the country.
