The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG Ministry of Health announced that the junta army had arrested and killed Ko Aung Ko Linn, a Public Health Supervisor (2) in the CDM, at the interrogation camp in Saw Township in Magwe Region.
  • According to Pha-Ang University Council under the NUG Ministry of Education the junta army shot dead Mg Nyan Win, a 3rd-year Math major student at Pha-Ang University, at an inspection gate in Pha-Ang of Kayin State on 3 June.
  • In Kawlin Township in Sagaing Region, basic education schools under the guidance of the NUG have been in need of textbooks for primary and middle school students.
  • The NUG announced that the People’s Police Force had been established in accordance with the police law to carry out the interim rule of law, join hands with the public for crime prevention and provide trustworthy legal services.
  • The NUG announced that they had blacklisted and dismissed 356 non-CDM officers from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation for their oppression of the CDM staff.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Pauk Township in Magwe Region, an alliance of PDFs raided the local police station in Kaile Village and took control of it on Tuesday morning. They also captured a policeman. Reportedly, the junta army has been conducting air strikes there with military helicopters.
  • In Thayet Township, a local PDF carried out a bomb explosion at an electricity office as a warning at about 10:00 p.m. on Monday.
  • According to local police sources, an acting police officer was appointed for No. (2) Magwe Police Station. Reportedly, there will be an investigation of the former police officer in charge and another local policeman in detention.
  • In Tilin Township, junta soldiers in two military trucks arrived at Sinse Village at about 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Reportedly, they set fire to houses and took away valuable things and food items.
  • In Magwe, over 10 military trucks carrying junta soldiers entered the town at about 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
  • On Tuesday, the Mandalay Monks’ Union conducted an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • On Tuesday, Foodpanda Riders, who have been faced with the violations of human rights and labor rights, conducted the Cross Campaign for a second day.
  • In Thantaung Township in Kayin State, a military officer from the 13 Mile junta army camp was shot dead by a local PDF sniper on Tuesday morning.
  • In Kyaikto Township in Mon State, a military convoy was attacked by a local PDF near to the Phayalay Crossroads on Tuesday morning. Reportedly, a military truck was damaged, 10 junta soldiers died and 15 others were injured.
  • In Shwebo Township in Sagaing Region, a combined force of PDFs conducted an attack with 40mm grenades on a local police station on Tuesday morning.
  • In Kani Township, there was a protest against the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • In Myinmu Township, a troop of over 80 junta soldiers raided Kanphya Village at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Reportedly, they made four villagers run in the open field and shot them dead. 
  • In Kani Township, the junta army killed a palm tree climber named Ko Chit Lwin in Daungchan Village by burning him on Sunday evening.
  • In a village in Shwebo Township, local people marched against the military dictatorship and junta education on Tuesday.
  • On Tuesday, a combined rally of villagers from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship.
  • According to local forces, the junta armed forces set fire to 11 villages in Dibeyin Township from 19 May to 2 June. Reportedly, 182 houses were burnt to ashes.
  • In Salingyi, Monywa University Students’ Union and Letbadaung Taung General Strike conducted a guerrilla protest on Tuesday morning, holding signs saying ‘We all are Ko Jimmy and Ko Phyo Zayyar Thaw’.
  • In a village in Yinmabin Township, there was an event in memory of local PDF members, who were burned to death by the junta armed forces six months ago, on Tuesday morning.
  • In Mobye on the Shan-Karenni border, a civilian died and two others got injured due to the mortars shot by the junta army on Tuesday morning.
  • On Tuesday, Magwe people donated school bags to children from an IDP camp in Karenni State.
  • In Hpakant in Kachin State, where there has been an internet blackout for over nine months, local people marched for the KIA, PDF and NUG on Tuesday. They also protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Ingapu Township in Ayeyarwaddy Region, Myint Aung, a policeman from No. (1) Shwetaung Police Station, joined the CDM and Justice soldiers PDF on 3 June.
  • In Myaungmya, the junta armed forces arrested U Thant Zaw Win, a former regional NLD MP on 4 June.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • According to the Karen Post, there was a meeting between the deputy chief military officer of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the officer in charge of Cobra Troop.
  • In Matupi Township in Chin State, the local CDF announced on Monday that they would take serious action against non-CDM staff who had been joining hands with the military junta.

The Military Council

  • The junta Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its objection to the statements of the United Nations, the United States and France with regard to the approval of the death penalty.
  • The junta Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed their condemnation against France referring to the military government as an ‘illegitimate government’. They also stated that the military junta was not the military government.
  • The military junta falsely claimed that PDFs had taken away exercise books and teaching aids from the school in Taeainte Village in Sagaing Township in Sagaing Region.
  • According to the junta media, the junta peace team and NDAA Maila signed agreements from their three-day discussion.

Summary on 7 June

  • The military junta got angry at the word ‘military government’ and expressed their objection to statements by the UN and the international community. They claim that they are a legitimate government in accordance with the 2008 Constitution. Since the night of the coup, the Constitution has been dissolved as they themselves broke it. In the view of the public and the international community, they are just an armed organisation that has seized power by force.
  • In Sagaing and Magwe regions, local PDFs have become more powerful and have managed to take control of the junta camps one  after another. Unlike before, they are fighting before junta forces carryout violent actions.
  • In Karenni and Kayin, revolutionary forces have won battles in recent days. As for the junta army, they had a great loss there.
