Yangon Region

  • At about 9:00 pm Saturday, some people in a car came and shot at the junta armed forces taking security in the MRTV compound between Kamayut and Sanchaung townships. There were fire ammunition in response and thus, some passers-by were injured.
  • In Kayan Township, a military officer from Kinmonchone village was shot three times and died on the spot near Ohnbin village at about 4:00 pm Saturday.
  • To mark the anniversary of 8888 public movements, a rally of Ta-Ka-Tha students, in cooperation with townships’ rallies, marched on Gaba-Aye Pagoda road and expressed their desire against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Bahan Township, a rally led by Sanchaung General Strike and Ta-Ka-Tha students marched against the military dictatorship on Pyi road on the anniversary of 8888 public movements.
  • In North Dagon Township, the youth expressed their desire on the anniversary of 8888 public movement, burning junta military uniforms and national flag set by USDP government.
  • In Hlaingthaya Township, there was a march in memory of the 33rd anniversary of 8888 public movement on Sunday.
  • In Shwepyitha Township, anti-junta youth expressed their desire to mark the anniversary of 8888 public movements.
  • In North Okkalapa Township, armed people in plain clothes beat and arrested 5 young people at the cross-road of Za market on Sunday morning.
  • On 33rd anniversary of the 8888 public revolution, the junta armed forces took security measures in many parts of the city and patrolled around with convoys.
  • On the anniversary of 8888 public movement, Sanchaung rally marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • A statement came out announcing that anti-junta leaders from various ethnic groups and religions had established a network.
  • In South Dagon Township, a bomb exploded near Yadana hospital at about 1:00 pm Sunday as two junta soldiers came near a motorbike with the sign- “Uproot the junta army”. According to witnesses, they were severely injured and one of them was probably dead.
  • In Bazundaung Township, there was a bomb explosion in front of Salin monastery near Bazundaung market at about 5:00 pm Sunday. Reportedly, two junta policemen were injured in the incident.

Mandalay Region

  • To make Mandalay protests more powerful and strengthen anti-junta movements, Mandalay Protests’ Force was established on Sunday.
  • According to social media posts of military lobby accounts, a car carrying weapons was arrested near Panya village on Mandalay-Moegoke road in Madaya Township on Sunday morning.
  • To mark the anniversary of 8888 public movement, a powerful rally of Maha Aungmye Township marched against the military watchdog.
  • In Wundwin Township, residents protested against the military dictatorship on the 33rd anniversary of 8888 public revolution, chanting “Get back the old debt of 88 in 21”.
  • On the anniversary of 8888 public movement, Myataung rally made an anti-junta march on Sunday.
  • Chanting anti-junta slogans, a rally of Aungmye Thazan Schools expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.
  • To mark the anniversary of 8888 public movement, a combined rally of Mandalay marched against the military dictatorship and sang the song in unison- “Till the end of the world”.
  • In Chanaye Thazan Township, youth led a Red campaign on the anniversary of 8888 public movement.

  • A combined rally of anti-junta forces protested against the military dictatorship along Ayeyarwaddy river bank on Sunday.
  • Ba-Ka-Tha Students’ Union and Mandalay Alliance rally marched for uprooting the military, raising their flag and chanting anti-junta slogans at a spot in the city.
  • According to family members, CDM surgeon Dr. Mg Mg Nyein Tun, who had been arrested and detained by the junta armed forces, died of COVID-19 in Mandalay Prison at about 6:38 am Sunday.
  • The public in Wundwin marched against the military dictatorship on the anniversary of 8888 public movement.

Sagaing Region

  • On Saturday night, there was a march in support of the NUG in a village of Monywa-Amyint road-side community. They also banged pots and pans to drive away from the military watchdog.
  • In Dibeyin Township, two military trucks from Saipyin and three military trucks from Monywa were attacked with mines near Kyi village at about 8:00 pm Saturday. Reportedly, two of them were damaged.
  • Local residents of Dibeyin Township protested against the military dictatorship on the anniversary of 8888 public movement.
  • In Ayadaw Township, the public expressed their desire in Taunglat area, holding signs- “Let’s strive together for unfinished 8888 revolution”.
  • In Butalin Township, a rally of various villages marched against the military dictatorship to mark the anniversary of 8888 public movement.
  • A rally comprising various villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship on the anniversary of 8888 public movement.
  • In Monywa Township, the public marched for uprooting the junta army on 33rd anniversary of 8888 public movement.
  • In Montaibin village of Ye-U Township, farmers conducted a strike against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Ayadaw Township, the youth led a march against the military dictatorship in Myauklat area on the anniversary of 8888 public movement.
  • Kalay townspeople marched against the military dictatorship on 33rd anniversary of 8888 public movement.
  • In Chaung-U Township, anti-junta public expressed their desire to mark the anniversary of 8888 public movement.
  • In Dibeyin Township, the junta armed forces arrested villagers at the entrance to Nyaunghla village at about 12:00 pm Sunday. Reportedly, they also set fire to 8 motorbikes.
  • On the anniversary of 8888 public movement, there were 8-finger strike and Red campaign on Myanmar-India border.
  • Cobra - Khin U announced that they had cleared a total of 17 administrators, junta-informers and Pyusawti members.

Taninthayi Region

  • In Longlone Township, there was a protest against the military dictatorship in Pandele village on Sunday morning, chanting “Get back old debt of 88 in 21”.
  • To mark the anniversary of 8888 public movement, a rally of southern Dawei expressed their objection to the military watchdog.
  • Dawei General Strike, in cooperation with a rally of students/youth expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship, chanting anti-junta slogans on the anniversary of 8888 public movement.
  • In Thayetchaung Township, there was an anti-junta movement on Sunday.
  • In Dawei, young residents led a protest- “Get back all the old debt of 88 in 21”.
  • In Nyinmaw village of Longlone Township, the youth led a march against the military dictatorship on Sunday morning.
  • In Yebyu Township, young people expressed their desire against the military dictatorship on Sunday morning to mark the anniversary of 8888 public movement.
  • In the eastern area of Dawei, the students and the public marched against the military dictatorship on 33rd anniversary of 8888 public movement.
  • In Longlone Township, a powerful rally of Dawei District General Strike Committee and local residents expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship on the anniversary of 8888 public movement.
  • In Longlone Township, the students and the public made a protest against the military dictatorship on Sunday, chanting “Get back old debt of 88 in 21”.

Magwe Region

  • A rally of southern Myaing marched against the military dictatorship on the anniversary of 8888 public movement.
  • At about 4:00 am Sunday, two bombs exploded in the compound of Magwe air force on Kanbya road.
  • Local residents of Pakkoku expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship on the anniversary of 8888 public movement, holding posters- “Uproot the junta army”.
  • In Myaing Township, Basic Education General Strike Committee, in cooperation with the public from the north west zone, expressed their desire for the end of the military dictatorship on 33rd anniversary of 8888 public movement, holding signs- “Let’s strive together for unfinished 8888 public revolution”.

Shan State

  • Taunggyi youth conducted Red campaign, “Get back the old debt of 88 in 21”.
  • In Namkam Township of Shan North, there was fighting between TNLA and the junta armed forces between Mantmai and Nantma villages. Reportedly, a junta soldier died and some weapons were confiscated.

Kachin State

  • On the anniversary of 8888 public movement, there was a protest against the military dictatorship in Lonekhine village group.
  • In Pha-Kant, the public marched against the military dictatorship on the anniversary of 8888 public movement.
  • In Pha-Kant Township, a rally of Seikmu (Seintaung) expressed their objection to the military dictatorship on 33rd anniversary of 8888 public movement.

Mon State

  • Mawlamyein youth made a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship on the anniversary of 8888 public movement, chanting “Uproot the junta army”.

Summary on 9th August

  • As it was 33rd anniversary of 8888 public movement, there were more public protests all across the country. Likewise, there were more activities of guerrilla revolution.
  • In Yangon, there were many protests, fire ammunitions and bomb explosions. An announcement came out that cooperation would be made among armed forces of revolution. Consequently, their activities might be more powerful and more effective than before.
  • In Mandalay, a variety of rallies protested against the military dictatorship. There were also public protests in other townships. Mandalay PDF said that they would correct their past mistakes and continue their revolution. Consequently, there might be more anti-junta activities in the days ahead.
  • In Sagaing Region with protests and revolution in great momentum, they became more powerful on Sunday. As for the junta armed forces, they had been strengthening their power. They also gave weapons to their junta-pillars. Therefore, the battles in the area might gain momentum.
  • In Chin, Kayah, Shan and Kayin states, it was believed that battles might break out anytime.
