Taunggyi Teacher's College Students' Union put out a call on 9 August for teachers to teach internally displaced people's (IDP) children in an unnamed liberated area in southern Shan State.

"Around 20 to 30 high school teachers are required. I am appealing to anyone who is interested, can teach children and is truly committed to teaching IDP children to contact us", said a Taunggyi Teacher's College Students' Union representative.

They explained that all the teachers would be provided with complete food, lodging and security.

As well as teachers IDP children also need educational materials and other supplies, such as blackboards, books, pencils and construction materials.

The students' union also asked people to donate as much as they can to support the education of IDP children.

Taunggyi is the capital of Shan State.
