Three junta soldiers killed by homemade mortar rounds

Three members of the Military Council were killed by homemade mortar rounds fired by the Wolf Underground Force (Myaing) in Thayetkwa Village in Magwe’s Myaing Township, on 7 July.

An 8 July statement by the Wolf Underground Force (Myaing) said that a coalition of resistance groups led by the Wolf Underground Force (Myaing) attacked Thayetkwa Village, which is about four miles south of Myaing, with homemade 120mm and 60mm mortar rounds.

They fought with the junta soldiers for about 45 minutes, during which time both sides fired about 100 mortar rounds between them. The resistance forces had to withdraw after 45 minutes because junta reinforcements arrived from Myaing, but no resistance fighters were injured, according to the statement.

It also said that the dead and wounded junta soldiers were driven by car to Myaing Hospital and that some of the mortar rounds fired into Thayetkwa Village had hit houses owned by members of the junta-aligned Pyu Saw Htee militia group.

The groups involved in the attack were: Wolf Underground Force (Myaing), Pakokku People's Defence Force (PDF), Nanthar Myaing PDF (Myaing), Tamar Myay guerrillas (Myaing) and GOE PDF forces.
