Three women arrested for allegedly supporting PDF in Thandwe township

A local resident told Mizzima that three women, including a 10th standard student, in Thandwe township, Rakhine region were arrested and taken away for allegedly providing financial support to the People's Defence Force (PDF).

The detainees are 35-year-old Ma Nyein Ei Phyu Kyaw, 25-year-old Tin Sandar Win and 17-year-old Ma Thein Aye Chan, 17. Ma Thein Aye Chan is also a 10th standard. They were arrested on charges of opening a K-pay account after using their names and National Registration Card (NRC) numbers and financing PDFs.

Thandwe township police chief filed a case against Ma Nyein E Phyu Kyaw and Ma Tin Sandar Win under Section 50 (j) of the Anti-Terrorism Law at Thandwe Township Police Station.

Six people allegedly linked to PDFs have been arrested in Rakhine State,. Five people are from Thandwe township and one from Mrauk-U township.
