An explosion occurred in a dormitory on Paw San Hmwe 1 Road, Ward 12, Hlaing Tharyar Township, Yangon on December 13. After the incident, the military council arrested three young men in the area, locals said.

One of the three arrested suffered a leg amputation in the blast and junta soldiers arrested him while he was being taken to hospital.

“No one helped the boy who had lost his leg, even though he was screaming for help. We need to help each other because we are civilians. At least, we could have helped to stop the bleeding. But, people were just standing and watching the injured boy,” a local commented.
