Total COVID-19 cases in Myanmar reach 28 after five new cases announced

The Myanmar Ministry of Health and Sports has announced five new cases of people infected with the coronavirus pushing the total so far recognized to 28.

The ministry announced the five new cases, the most in one day, on April 10.

The Myanmar authorities have brought in a range of measures to try to clamp down on the spread of the virus in the country.

So far a total of three people are reported to have died with the virus.

The first case of COVID-19 was recognized on 23 March.
