Twelve junta soldiers killed in Tanintharyi’s Palaw and Dawei townships

Twelve junta troops were killed and four military vehicles destroyed in fighting between junta troops and People's Defense Forces (PDFs) in Palaw and Dawei townships, in Tanintharyi Region on the night of 26 April, according to resistance forces.

The King Cobra Force detonated three landmines near Kadei Village, in Myeik District’s Palaw Township, at around 8 pm on 26 April. The King Cobra Force announced that at least 10 junta soldiers were killed and seven military vehicles were hit, of which two were burned out.

Previously, at around 7 p.m. on 26 April, fighting broke out for 40 minutes between junta troops and PDF members who were carrying out inspections near the eight-mile intersection in Mae Chaung village, in Dawei Township’s Thabyar Village-Tract. According to reports two junta soldiers were killed and several others were injured. Two of their three vehicles were damaged and the third was seized by the PDF, according to a PDF representative.

The Dawei Township People's Defence Force Dawei (PDF-Dawei) has requested that people not use the Dawei to Htee Khi road during the current military tensions.
