Two Myanmar junta army officers and one of their wives shot dead in Yangon

Two junta army officers and one of their family members were shot dead at the intersection of Baho Road and Paungsee Road in Hlaing Township, Yangon at around 9:40 a.m. on 20 October.

The three who died were Captain Myint Swe, Lieutenant Aung Ko Min and his wife Ma Yadana Oo, according to news sources.

A local said: “One was an army captain who brutally cracked down on protesters last year. Now he has died. The other two [killed] were his sister and her husband, they are also gone.”

The three victims died on the spot and many junta personnel came to collect their bodies.

The junta has set up many checkpoints on Than and Baho Road in Hlaing Township, but no group has claimed responsibility for the attack and it is still not known who carried out the atta
