Two suspected PDF members arrested in Ngathaingchaung Town

Two men found in possession of ammunition were detained and accused of being PDF members in Ngathaingchaung Town, Ayeyarwaddy Region, on 19 August.

On the morning of 19 August, police raided a guest house in Ngathaingchaung Town, in Yegyi Township and arrested two men who were staying there.

According to a person living nearby, the soldiers said that the two detained men were PDF members and had been caught in possession of weapons and ammunition.

The apprehended men were 28-year-old from Yangon and a 30-year-old from Ayeyarwaddy Region.

As part of this case, four men and a woman had already been arrested. These five and the two recently arrested men are being held in Yegyi Township Police Station and being physically abused during their interrogations, according to a police source.

When Mizzima reached out to the local resistance forces for their reaction to the news, they stated that they were still conducting a detailed investigation into what happened.
