The National Unity Government (NUG) Ministry of Defence said that defence forces have started using weapons purchased with public money donated as part of Project Dragonfly, in a 9 August statement.

It said that military strategy is determining how the money raised by Project Dragonfly is being spent and that some equipment purchased with the money is already being used.

Project Dragonfly was established to raise funds to pay for anti-aircraft weapons to counter junta airstrikes.

The NUG Ministry of Defence also expressed thanks to the people, scholars, technical experts and artists who contributed to Project Dragonfly.
