Yangon to host first floating night market

The first floating night market will take place from 31 October to 8 November at Jetty No. 5 next to Botahtaung Pagoda, Botahtaung Township in Yangon Region.

A boat market will also be present during the floating night market's nine-day run, and both traditional delicacies from the region and dishes from other countries will be sold there, according to a local news media report.

The Taw Win Chan Thar company is in charge of the floating night market. When the market is open, the stalls are set up, the sellers are required to offer their goods while dressed in traditional ethnic costume, locals said.

In Myanmar, the Taunggyi District of southern Shan State hosts a festival including a floating night market, and Inle Lake also has regular events there
