Yangon’s Mingaladon Police Station attacked

Two urban guerrilla forces used grenades to attack Mingaladon Police Station near to the Khayaypin Junction in Mingaladon Township, Yangon at around 7:00 pm, on 3 September.

Captain Sanay, from the Yangon Ghost Ranger Force (Y.G.R.F), one of the groups involved in the attack said to Mizzima:  “The first time we tried to attack Mingaladon Police Station the bomb did not explode because something malfunctioned. This was our second attempt and it really worked out. I do not know casualty numbers yet.”

The attack was carried out by members of the Yangon Ghost Ranger Force (Y.G.R.F) and the Easter Red Lion groups. All the people who took part in the attack escaped and are now in safe places, according to the YGRF.

Currently, there is tight security at Mingaladon Police Station and extra junta troops are guarding the police station and ready to ambush any attackers.
