Israel holds workshop on ‘Improving Irrigation Efficiency’

As part of the bilateral cooperation between Myanmar and Israel in the framework of various training activities in agriculture, water management, irrigation and other sectors, two Israeli experts from MASHAV – Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation, are conducting a course and workshop on “Improving Irrigation Efficiency” sharing Israel’s knowledge and experience in this field with Myanmar.
The program is a collaboration between MASHAV, the Embassy of Israel and Water Utilization Department, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, which is taking place November 6th – 10th, at the office of the Water Utilization Department, Nay Pyi Taw.
The opening ceremony of the course was held on 6th November in Nay Pyi Taw, attended by Israeli ambassador H.E. Mr. Daniel Zonshine, Mr. Shai Dotan (Senior Director, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), Mr. Gilad Marek (Agronomist Consultant of MASHAV) and U Soe Myint Tun (Deputy Director General - Water Utilization Department, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation).
Altogether, about 40 participants from Dry Zone and officials from the Ministry attended the course and workshop.
