From Monday 15 June, customers will be able to use the UK’s new Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Yangon according to a media release from the embassy. The new visa application centre, will be run by the Embassy’s commercial partners VFS and will make it quicker and easier for customers in Myanmar to apply for their UK visas.
Benefits include more appointment slots through longer opening hours and a Monday to Friday service. Customers will also be able to keep up with the status of their visa application through the SMS service.
Andrew Patrick, the British Ambassador to Myanmar said, “This new visa application centre will make it more convenient for Myanmar applicants to apply for their UK visa. VFS Global successfully manage UK visa application centres all over the world, and we expect that through having this dedicated facility we will soon be able to deliver more services to our customers.”
The new visa application centre is located at 305, Prime Hill Business Square, No. 60, Shwe Dagon Pagoda Road, Dagon Township, Yangon, Myanmar
There will be no changes to the visa process for customers, who will continue to apply for their visa and book their visa appointment via the visa4uk website. However there will be an extra charge to use this user-pay VAC which is $92 on top of the cost of the visa. This will be payable in cash when the application is submitted.
