UN Secretary-General meets with prominent religious figures

A meeting between UN Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki-moon and prominent figures of all faiths was held at Kempinski Hotel at 08:30 hrs on 31 August 2016, state media reported on 1 September.
Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Thura U Aung Ko and UN Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki-moon delivered opening speeches at the meeting.
According to the report, the prominent figures of all faiths in Myanmar mentioned that Myanmar people need to co-exist peacefully and harmoniously with forgiveness and patience for the peace and stability of the country; to promote peace and unity for future generations and to encourage younger generations to observe faithfully their respective religion.
