Members of the Upper Chindwin Youth Network in Kalay Township, Chin State, participated in a performance art protest on World Environment Day to urge authorities to take care of Myaypyo Dam.
They daubed mud on their bodies to reflect the flooding caused by the Myaypyo Dam in July and August last year.
Kyaw Thet Win, a member of the network, said, “If heavy rain falls, the Myaypyo Dam can burst. If the dam bursts, the floods will hit villages in Kalay Township, which is located at the boundary between Chin State and Sagaing Region.”
