Policing has been stepped up outside the Myanmar embassy in Jakarta with thousands of people expected to converge on the building for a second day to protest violence against Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar, the Anadolu Agency reported today.
The protest -- due to start after Friday prayers -- follows a demonstration in front of the presidential palace and embassy Thursday, where hundreds carried banners saying “Save the Rohingya Muslims”, “Myanmar, Stop Muslim Cleansing!” and “Stop Genocide against Rohingya.”
Similar events are also expected to take place outside Myanmar embassies in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur today.
