‘Eye from Zion’arrives in Myanmar

For the 7th time an Israeli eye doctor’s delegation known as “Eye from Zion” arrived in Myanmar as part of an ongoing collaboration in the area of health between Myanmar and Israel, according to a statement on 16 March.
This year’s delegation includes 3 doctors and is led by Dr.Nir Shoham Hazon (Director of the Glaucoma Unit in Barzilai Hospital). They will concentrate on treatment for Glaucoma and will operate and transfer knowledge to local doctors using equipment and know-how from Israel.
Their activities will be conducted at North Okkalapa General Hospital and No. 1 Mingalardon Military Hospital. The surgeries involve live training sessions and demonstrations for interns and doctors from different eye departments.
The team will also hold a seminar on Glaucoma for doctors from different institutions in Myanmar, the statement said.
