COVID-19 infection found in police officer came from Sittwe

A COVID-19 infection was found from a police inspector who came to Mandalay from Sittwe, Rakhine State, for attending training at Police Officer Academy in 66th Street, between 28th and 29th streets, Chanayetharzan Township, Mandalay.

The district administrator said that this infected police officer had now been sent to Kandawnadi hospital and this academy has been quarantined and restricted the movements of all inside the academy and those coming from outside.

According to the news released on COVID-19 on August 27 at 8 p.m., 16 new laboratory confirmed cases were found. One of them, case number 587, is this police officer.

As of today, Myanmar has recorded a total of 643 cases of COVID-19 over a six month period. A total of six people have died.
