One of the seven lawyers representing Daw Aung San Suu Kyi has been barred from commenting on media and INGOs, including foreign diplomats.

The banned lawyer is Daw San Mar La Nyunt, a lawyer who has mainly been acting for Daw Aung Suu Kyi under the State Secrets Act in the Eastern District Court of Yangon.

Daw San Mar La Nyunt was summoned by the Kyauktada Township Administration Office a few days ago and asked to sign a pledge not to contact any organizations.

She did not provide further details on the situation and confirmed only that she had been banned.
