Yadanabon Cyber City Students Union meets Region Government over murder

Students from Technology University (Yadanabon Cyber City) met Mandalay Region government on December 11, 2018, at the regional government office to discuss the murder of a student from the university.

In the meeting, the students demanded beefing up the security of the campus and surrounding area and arresting the culprit.

Mandalay Region government reportedly told the student union that police patrol teams would be deployed on the campus and surrounding areas and also a police outpost would be posted at the campus for the security of the students.

Technology University (Yadanabon Cyber City) second-year student from ICT major, Htet Lin Thant (18), was killed on December 6 in the evening. The victim and another student were on their way back from a restaurant in Thone Htaung village, three male persons followed them and pushed their cycle to the ground and then they beat the victim with sticks when their cycle fell to the ground. Htet Lin Thant died.
