NLD receives 16 applications for by-elections in Mandalay Region

The Mandalay Region National League for Democracy (NLD) Party Chairman Tin Htut Oo said that there were 16 party members who applied to contest vacant seats in Mandalay Region in coming by-elections.
“As far as I know, six party members applied for vacant Mandalay Region Legislative Assembly seats from Thabeikkyin constituency and four more applied for vacant House of Nationalities seat in Myingyan constituency. And we have received six applications for vacant ethnic Shan Affairs Minister in Mandalay Region government,” Tin Htut Oo said.
Tin Htut Oo added that they were examining applicants in accordance with the directives of party HQ at different levels and now it had completed township-level scrutiny so they were now doing region-level work.
The by-elections will be held on November 3 this year for four vacant seats in House of Representatives, one vacant seat for House of Nationalities and eight vacant seats for States/Regions Legislative Assemblies.
